Fely Tchaco Music Biography

For African women, singing can be the road to many challenges; however, the same road can lead to personal power which can move mountains, inspire and win battles. Drawing from her own life's experience as well as folk wisdom, Ivory Coast singer songwriter Fely Tchaco embodies the new generation of artists who remain attached to their African heritage, while at the same time maintaining a resolutely modern outlook on the world. If beauty is all it takes for success, well then Ivory Coast music sensation Fely Tchaco embodies this quality and more. This multi-talented artist, currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Multi talented, Billboard Nominee, Singer Songwriter, performer, Fely Tchaco who moved to San Francisco in the early 2000 was born and raised in Cote d'Ivoire West Africa,.Fely’s passion for music began in her early teenager years. She started singing French ballad and popular songs in piano bars and music venues throughout the Ivory Coast to establish herself as a singer doing cover songs.

1996 Fely released her first album “Amour Perdu” as an independent artist and was distributed by EMI Cote d’Ivoire back then called Emi Fat Music, followed by another one 1998, which launched her career with her song titled “Mon Espoir”. 

In 2004 Fely recorded and released her first U.S. debut album "De Zere Gnan" followed by an EP "Awareness” in 2008 and “Maturite” in 2011. Her lyrics draw on life experiences, ruminating on what is going on in the world today.  Fely sings in many different languages, English, French as well in her native Gouro language, emphasizing on her cultural background. 

In 2012 her song “Goba” from the album “Maturite” has won the Independent Music Awards in the World Beat song category. Another song of the same album called “Toilata” had an honorable mention in the International Songwriting Competition in 2010, Fely was among the top 10 finalists from over 15,000 entrants. 

Fely is a total package with a powerful persona, and a positive aura, she is a dynamic performer and dancer as well specializing in rhythms of the West African forest region like Gbegbe, Gaou Alloukou and Zaouli etc... 

Fely collaborated with renowned composers such as Jerry Martin former Audio Director at EA and Serge Bile an international author and writer based in Martinique and lately with Grammy Awards winner Christian Tumalan. In addition of being a singer songwriter performer, Fely is a mother, a wife, visual artist and a fashion designer. She combines her art and fashion to express her creativity in her music and on stage. Beside her music, Fely Tchaco is also, a visual artist, fashion designer and entrepreneur.

In early 2014, she made it as an extra for the NBC series “LOOKING” In 2011 she was cast as an extra for the movies "CONTAGEON". Fely Tchaco released her recordings under her own independent record label called "FELY PRODUCTIONS/ZEWP", her song "Goba" the first track of her latest CD "Maturite" won the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards in the world beat song category for the year 2012. One of her project is to raise a fund to go to Africa and create a documentary on the Zaouli Dance mask of the Gouro tribe; which is the rhythm adapted in her award winning song “Goba”

Fely Tchaco's anticipated new album “YITA”  is tribute to African migrants dying in the Mediterranean seas, a call for social justice and police brutality against civilians.
